  8. tram  station,  with  the   headphones
  9. around  his  neck  sending noisy beats
  10. from one ear to the other and a  back-
  11. pack  between  his legs, waiting for a
  12. waggon  to transport his tired body to
  13. the place where he is working.
  14. He put the portable cd-player  in  the
  15. pocket of his  shorts  in  the morning
  16. knowing that the weather of the coming
  17. day will beat the days before and that
  18. he will have to change his clothes  in
  19. the  evening although he wear them the
  20. first time today. In short: It will be
  21. hot, even with the air-conditioning at
  22. work.«»
  23. The CD plays a new  record  from  TRSI
  24. Records with tunes by a scenish artist
  25. called Muffler and the mood of Zito is
  26. getting  worse  with  every minute. He
  27. liked   Muffler`s   demotunes,  so  he
  28. bought his debut album directly  after
  29. it  was  out  at the stores but he got
  30. more than disappointed.While Muffler`s
  31. modules   where  full  of  ideas   and
  32. inspiration,   although   or    better
  33. because  they  were depressive, the CD
  34. tracks  became only monotone pieces of
  35. boredom.  Filled with anger Zito plans
  36. to  write  a critic in one of the next
  37. coming diskmags. But  remembering  the
  38. last night he  notices  that  he  read
  39. about  someone who already has written
  40. one.  Tonight  it has been released in
  41. Devotion,  the new star on the diskmag
  42. sky. Fresh and innovative. Hopefully a
  43. star  the  scene  will  be able to see
  44. more often than one time only.«»

  46. Because the tram arrived at the  final
  47. station,  Zito takes off and makes his
  48. way to the last house in the only road
  49. the  next  miles.   And  while  he  is
  50. walking  he   reminds  on  Phoenix  by
  51. Giants.  A  nice FASTRAM-diskmag which
  52. was  released  two  times only and for
  53. which he became co-editor right before
  54. its death long ago.«»
  55. `Ah!` a silent voice speaks to the man
  56. who is happy that he  finally  entered
  57. the house where a cool breeze surounds
  58. him. `You  still  have  to  visit  the
  59. website  of  Bjorn  Lynne  to  look if
  60. there  is  another  demosong  for  the
  61. sequel record of "Wolves Of The Gods"!
  62. And  you have to visit your competitor
  63. back2roots.org  to download a file you
  64. are  still  missing.  Than you have to
  65. visit  the  project you are supporting
  66. called  "AmiSectorOne" (sorry for this
  67. small  commercial  break  right  here!

  69. your  new  reviews. And...` Zito shuts
  70. up the voice and enters the bureau  of
  71. his boss, the man with the fat wart on
  72. his  neck,  to  make some things going
  73. the right way for the next week.«»

  75. Entering  the  net  for   journalistic
  76. research,   Zito  remembers  the  time
  77. when  there  was  no  !nternet for the
  78. public  available.  Also the amiga was
  79. without it. Amiga and  !nternet  where
  80. in any way  always  two  things  those
  81. could  not  come  together  in  Zito`s
  82. mind.  In "The Investore`s Club" or at
  83. the  local  public  library  he  often
  84. visited   the   net   for  information
  85. research and e-mailing with friends by
  86. using some x86 PeeCees,  but Amiga and
  87. scene were always reachable for him by
  88. snail-mail  only.  That  was  what the
  89. scene stood for in his eyes. But today
  90. he is clicking  his  way  through  the
  91. pages  of the WWW regulary when he had
  92. to work instead. Actually.  He  enters
  93. the  world  of scene a quite different
  94. way. And an easier one also.«»
  95. To get into the scene these days isn`t
  96. that hard anymore as it was in its and
  97. his earlier lifetime. Then it was even
  98. a ritual to become a member, but today
  99. you only need to say you were a scener
  100. and  you  `are`  one. And the scene is
  101. shrinking though. Is  this  caused  by
  102. its  liberality  or is the scene still
  103. too close for newcomers?  Zito doesn`t
  104. think  so,  although  he is a  friend-
  105. shipper and really no elite guy.
  106. His  mind  is  flying  and his fingers
  107. are typing a new ftp-address to  leech
  108. some files and suddenly  the  computer
  109. specialist enters the room, asking for
  110. the last month`s phone bill...«»

  112. Some time after the lunch break Zito`s
  113. thoughts are still rotating around the
  114. stuff he should better think about  in
  115. his  sparetime,  but  he can not avoid
  116. them. He  remembers  his  first  touch
  117. with the Amiga computer. Of course  he
  118. was  as nearly every scener a gamer at
  119. first. But infected  by  his  prefered
  120. music  (movie  scores) he directly saw
  121. (or better heard) more in the games he
  122. was playing through the  nights,  then
  123. only normal games.  While enjoying the
  124. paramount  "Futur Wars"  and legendary
  125. games like "Turrican" and "Apidya"  he
  126. started  to  become  a fan of computer
  127. music.  Especially  the music composed
  128. by Chris Hülsbeck at first.
  129. `These   were  great  times!`,  he  is
  130. thinking  `Full  of   creativity   and
  131. spirit.  That was what the Amiga meant
  132. to  be!`  And  remembering  the  early
  133. nineties  this  way  there   comes   a
  134. question to his mind...  `And  today`s
  135. music?`  Although  Zito  isn`t against
  136. breakbeat  and  techno music, it seems
  137. there are too  much  bases  and  drums
  138. only around, too less sweet melodies.
  139. Where have all the good musicans gone?
  140. Left for PeeCee? Can`t be as he heard.
  141. Or why is there not as  much  creative
  142. spirit  left  as  before?  Maybe it is
  143. just  a  kind  of  taste?  Or Zito has
  144. simply missed the train  to  the  next
  145. century? Maybe...«»
  146. It  became  already  late and the time
  147. passed fastly by thinking and surfing,
  148. so   Zito  resets  the  computers  and
  149. snapps  at  his  backpack. `Time isn`t
  150. money but precious`,  so he hurries up
  151. to get home as fast as possible.«»

  153. `And today`s games? Are there actually
  154. new & good games released these days?`
  155. Zito is nearly crying inside his  head
  156. while  he  is  watching  for  the next
  157. tram. `I need to stop  thinking  right
  158. here` he commands himself. He jumps on
  159. the waggon which has stopped in  front
  160. of  him  and while the sun is setting,
  161. he is driving the last tram the  wrong
  162. direction. Too many thoughts...«»

  164. Zito returned home  late  because  the
  165. tram  had  also  electricity  problems
  166. caused by the hot weather.  The  whole
  167. day  felt like a day after a worldwar.
  168. And not being capable  of  making  any
  169. conclusion  about  it,  he went to bed
  170. and felt asleep one second after.«»
